I saw doing my friend an advance Yoga in the gym I attend and it impressed me deeply. Decision was made after the New Year. I tried Yoga for the first time in my entire life on the 5th January 2008 and this is what I felt..

Class Zero – Yoga Hatha

This class was for beginners but I was completely lost even we went slowly through basic posture sequences. I was very busy following the teacher unfortunately, I cannot remember all poses. The class attended about 12 girls and 2 other guys. I did like this class. The teacher Jackie was good, explained poses and corrected us as needed.

Class 1 – Yoga Ashtanga

This class was for all levels and I attended it two days later on the 7th January were I could feel even more what Yoga is. The class attended about 15 girls and 1 other guy (Hmm, “Why only 2 guys?”). The teacher was the same from my Class Zero. She explained poses and corrected us as needed . Surprisingly, I have found out that this Yoga class was very difficult for me. These thoughts were inside me that day and next day after my first class.

What is difficult and why?

Postures

I couldn’t get back from one posture, the emergency was called to untwist me :-)

Sequences

Breathing

My muscles were weak (the biggest surprise)

I couldn’t understand the teacher

My muscles started be overheating

My muscles started shaking

In some moments I didn’t know which hand is right and which is left

I couldn’t get back home because of confusing West and East and I couldn’t find my car. Hey, I don’t have any car :-)

I had even dreams about Yoga that night

I wanted to finish my first Asthanga class after 30 minutes not because of I didn’t like it or I wasn’t flexible like other students but because I wasn’t physically able to continue. Fortunately, we finished Sun Salutation B and I was able to rest.

Considering these feelings I could understand why people doing yoga are crazy (“crazy” in good meaning). I know lots of people and from the big range of my friends, family and colleagues I could easily see that 95% would give up and only 5 % would be able/happy to continue and find some passion in Yoga and maybe some of them would be even excited doing Yoga as me. This 5% minority is “crazy” from the majority point of view.

In any case I did love all these “first” classes and I am excited and looking forward to attend them again. My legs were particularly weak and this was my biggest issue in class 1.

Class 2 – Yoga Hatha

My second Yoga Hatha class was again difficult for me but at least I can feel that I like it. However I can remember just one posture Warrior posture.

..after one year Bloody Yoga Madness

I have got very nice flatmates and with one of them I have been recently sharing my room. She has been living with me almost 9 months. She is very nice and beautiful girl (she is not my girlfriend!) but there are some tiny bits I don’t like:

She doesn’t have and I think she has never ever had any job and most of the day she is just sleeping. WTF? She doesn’t pay rent (I agreed this before). She doesn’t do any shopping and cooking but she loves eating!! WTF? She is not doing any house work. I mean she is not doing any tidying or cleaning work. Hey, my dear your long blond hair is everywhere!! Ohh, she looooooves chatting. Well, I don’t mind that if she talks to my flatmates Roberto or Joseph or Alex & Alex but sometimes she just talk too much. I think I cannot handle this. Can’t you just be just quiet some days? I can pay you for that!! Is it a problem? WTF? I cannot go even on the toilet without you saying something. Any move I make you have to make some comment. Ohh, and she loves complaining and she always wants something and I don’t really know what she wants. Sorry I cannot read your mind, can I dare to say that you could be more clear about what you want? Not only that I share with her my room but I have to share with her also my bed what I don’t mind obviously but the problem is her late night chatting. WTF? WTF? Come on! I work. I need to sleep!! You sleep all the day and then when you see a move when I sleep you think I am ready to listen? NOOO. I am not!! I just need to turn to the other side. Ohh, Yeaah, you know I have to go to work in the morning so I am very sorry I have to step over you what you just HATE and complain about that all the time. I know this is also difficult to understand but when we share a bed it doesn’t mean that I have to touch you and hold your hand so please don’t demand this.

Ohh, in case you think I don’t like that you are biting your nails when I am asleep, no, no, actually, I love it coz it indeed doesn’t wake me up. How could I possibly know that you are doing that?? Are you actually doing that?

Really, really, really, thank you, that you didn’t ask and you started using my laptop and you deleted all my emails from the inbox. WTF? Ok, you can use it but if you want to send/delete emails just use your own email account!! Also, I know it is VERY difficult to understand it but we cannot use and work on my laptop together at the same time as I need to do my own stuff. I believe you don’t do this on purpose and it is just very rare coincidence that all the time when I use it you want to use it as well and if you have to wait you have to sit by some mysterious reason as close as possible to me trying to start some conversations I cannot focus on. At the end the puzzle I try to solve and what always surprises me is that you don’t bother using my laptop when I say ok now you can use it. And by the way yes I have got so much time so I just love playing your game “Find out what keys & buttons I pressed” so I could fix and use my laptop again.

The last time, I don’t understand why the tea bag was in the bed, never mind but why the hell you had to tear it and the tea was everywhere!! What’s the point? Even you complained about that tea! You did it my dear!! WTF?

You know very good that I like spiders so thank you my innocent flatmate for killing some of them and leaving them on the floor so I could enjoy the mystic death of the spiders. This is weird but did you start killing also flies and leaving them in the bed or I was just dreaming????!!!!!

Hey, also you know I don’t have a girlfriend (someone save & take me!!) so don’t understand why you are always checking my wardrobe and looking for someone hair. Yes, yes, my dear, it is obvious that you were checking my clothes as you left the whole wardrobe upside-down. Did you find anything??

My dear, I know you don’t bother about laundry but I don’t mind doing that even for you but why you have to have so much comments about that??? WTF?

Yeah, I have accepted that anything wrong you do is actually ok, absolutely fine, you are welcome to do it again, let’s celebrate it, so much fun, he he and If I do something wrong by accident I am the worst person on the planet. I agree I had a weak time and couldn’t understand this so was desperately looking for the fastest train in London who could take me on the journey around UK on its front window but really now I got it and I know the life is a bitch a bit. Just keep doing whatever you are doing! Yes, I know I know I must listen to anything you say but whatever I say doesn’t really matter. I got it you wish I had elephant ears and no mouth.

I know that you are just a normal ordinary girl, and no no you are not spoiled and definitely no no no you are not selfish and you are not a princess but maybe and I am really scared to say it but the life is not only around you. Ohh shit. I have just said it! What? The only what you say is “And now what?” and you want to work on my laptop again…Ok, just give me a few seconds to finish this post…

…I am going to post some photos of you so friends could support me and be on my side. Here she is – my flatmate :-O

I gave a go and played Supreme Commander 2 a real time strategic game recently. I was very interested how strategic games have changed as I haven’t played for a long long time. I remember still Dune II (1992); I loved that game and editing it to get more units and money.

So what is it like now playing Supreme Commander 2?

I spent playing only 8 hours, no more time was available. The story is kind of strange; I think maybe better writers could be hired. The guy, with his Armored Command Unit (ACU) tries to do some work. He works very hard for UEF and after he kills many enemies he realizes maybe he shouldn’t work for UEF because they want to kill also his family. The humanity is doing much better in this game than in the real life; consider this conversation I changed a bit:

The guy: “..but they are innocent civilians..”
UEF: “..they are terrorists..”
The guy: “..there are children..”
UEF: “..they are also terrorists, give them a nuke, ..the nuke was launched..”

That is enough about the story I was told that I saved some civilians. I guess I killed also many innocent enemies, well before they were friends. What a life?

I don’t play games, haven’t played Supreme Commander the first so this is just my observation.

The land, air and naval units are remotely controlled. I guess they are robots and no people inside.

The Best

It supports naturally two screens, it was really nice to play on my two 24” screens (1920×1200), well the secondary screen was used only as a big map but it was interactive (zoom, move, select, ..) and so very helpful and I did feel like in a command centre

Reclaim! I love recycling, you can recycle any unit and structure

Destroyed units and structures stay in the game, not sure if all but this is cool as they can be reclaimed

Good

Nice graphics, nice effects

The unit can be in more groups (Ctrl + Number)

You can set “Guard” mode for any unit so it can guard some unit/structure

Annoying

I played just a few missions and got 5/5 stars for everything except the time 0/5. WTF? Isn’t it a strategic game? Or I did too much strategy? :-(

The destroyed units should become a natural obstruction, if there is a battlefield with many destroyed units this should all stay there and become an obstruction unless it is removed by some units or cleared by bulldozers?

Very Annoying

I couldn’t easily ungroup the unit from the group

When a unit is just about to die (red colour bar on the unit indicator) I wanted to click on it and sent back to the base so it is repaired. Nice, good idea. But when I moved a group to a different position it automatically moved back the dying unit (wrong unit driver?). WTF? WHY JUST A VERY DAMAGED UNIT CANNOT GO AUTOMATICALLY TO THE REPAIR POINT? Or some aircraft could come and take it to the repair point. Wasn’t this in DUNE II 18 years ago?

The same problem above with aircrafts

When I wanted to attack some target deep inside the enemy area I sent a group of aircrafts. WATCH OUT! This can be a suicide mission if they attacked one by one (wrong unit driver?) so you have to move them first to some location and wait till they are all together, then you can attack. WATCH OUT! If they turn around to do a second attack in case the target hasn’t been destroyed they are turning around the area where all anti-aircraft turrets are (wrong unit driver?). WTF? Are you blind? Just fly away as a group, turn in the safe area and come back

How comes that after 18 years from Dune II the units still have got unlimited ammunition and oil. Even they had a special energy sources they need to recharge them. Or in rockets case they need to reload. NOPE! Your unit can sit wherever it is and can shoot forever

When the unit is “dying” it is fully functional until it is dead. Well, real life, I can damage you so you cannot move but maybe you can still shoot or you cannot shoot but you can still move. YES! In this case turn and come back to the base so you are repaired

Research, each mission you have to do again and again the same research, also it wasn’t very clear what the specific research is for, it missed a better comment or a button help where I could easily find out what is a particular research about

You can set Path for any unit, but it would be better to set an area which you want to guard. E.g. just draw a circle around the place you want to secure

Factories. When I clicked a factory to build a unit it wasn’t clear where it is going to be deployed. There is a tiny mark hardly visible if there are many units or structures. Even if you re-do the deployment point you can easily forget where it is

Difficult to recognise easily my own anti-air and land turrets. Which one is which one? Wait till they start shooting.

It wasn’t that clear that some aircrafts cannot attack land units

When the nearby units are under attack, your mate next to that unit(s) is just watching, drinking his coffee and checking emails in his mobile. Well, he is not going to help you because the enemy unit is not in his range. He is not aware he is the next one who is going to die. STRANGE. Shouldn’t there be an option if your units in your range are under attack maybe I should help them?

All land, naval and air units in the Supreme Commander 2 need better software or drivers. Not sure what operation system they are running on? Windows? Linux?

It looks that this real time strategic game Supreme Commander 2 teaches you sending your units for a suicide missions because you can still build more and more new units. I did enjoy playing but this game didn’t drag me in.

If I have missed any functionality I mentioned in the game this could be just that the game wasn’t that intuitive for me and probably it should be in the tutorial which I did twice.

A standard routine, I woke up at 5:30 and felt tired so slept till 7:30. A bit stretching, quick breakfast number 1, washed my teeth, a quick conversation with cats and I put the empty veggie box outside the doors for a new delivery and after was heading to the gym. When I unlocked my bicycle kind of realized that there are no people around, well, I ignored that and cycled to the cycle superhighway. Again, that was kind of strange no cyclist on the way. I cycled about 500 meters and could see far far away that the superhighway was empty except myself. Is it not Monday today??? A cycled a few meters and stopped. I checked my Blackberry. Ups. It is Sunday. Let’s double check with my Nokia mobile. Hey, Sunday again. I smiled to myself and turned my bicycle and cycled back. Well, at least I started my day very soon and will be in gym at 9:00.

Why this has happened?
I was working on Saturday till midnight and actually whole Saturday program was like my typical Sunday. This happened first time in my life and it’s pretty amazing how “life inertia” sometimes roll. Well, I politely accepted that it is Monday and was ready for work without a though about Sunday. At least I have got now one more free day and can chill out :-)

Yes, and cats didn’t tell me it’s Sunday. Thank you! :-)
